The vision and mission of the college are achieved through a contribution of all the stakeholder involved in the day to day running of the institution. In addition, there are day to day activities which add on to the teaching and learning.
As educators, we know that the life of the school has to go well beyond the school day. Our students can practise a sport, argument their studies and learn a language or simply do something that is fun and educational. The extracurricular activities help to foster confidence and positive self-image in students while at the same time promoting physical activities thus keeping the student healthy. They help foster certain personality skills in students. For example they learn to be patient and tolerant, develop empathy towards others and learn how to behave in communities.
One of the most important part of the college day to day running is punctuality from both teachers and students. There are teachers and students (School prefects/SRC) who are assigned duties on a weekly basis to manage the smooth running of the school.
All students are required to arrive at school before 7 am and all assignments must be done and submitted by 8 am
7 am to 7:45 am
| Morning study (S5)
| The college adopted a morning study after expert advice said that in the morning our brains have gone through the least amount of stress compared to later hours in the day. It is also used as an opportunity to make learners to be more productive during the course of the day because they have revised on what was discussed the day before. The morning study is carried out in complete silence supervised by Teachers on duty and monitored by school prefects and Teachers. |
7:40 am to 7:50 am | Morning Briefing | This is the time used as a short recess for those who really need to use the toilet before lessons start. |
7:50 am to a little before 8 am | TutorGroup meeting | Students and teachers gather in their assigned Tutor rooms announcements session |
8:00 to 8:40 | Lesson 1 | A lesson can be a single or double lesson depending on the day and class. Single lessons are normally used as a platform for teachers and students to interact on concepts and subject content. In the case of double lessons, teachers use these for 1. Tests, 2. Same as single lessons but covering a lot of content, 3. Lab sessions depending on the subject and 4. Projects sessions |
