Machabeng College welcomes students from Lesotho and around the world into a diverse, supportive and academically rigorous learning environment. Our admissions process is designed to ensure that every learner is placed where they can thrive.

Entry Requirements

  • Lower School (S1 -S3): Placement assessments are used to ensure appropriate academic placement and readiness.
  • Middle School (S4 S5): Students complete placement tests and an academic review to confirm programme suitability.
  • Upper School (IB Diploma Programme): content to be given later  ( few deliberations are required )

Diploma Programme timeline:
Applications open JanuaryMarch, interviews begin in April, with offers issued for August entry.

National Manpower Development Secretariat (National Manpower Development Secretariat (NMDS)) Sponsorships

Eligible students admitted into the full IB Diploma Programme may be considered for National Manpower Development Secretariat (NMDS) sponsorships.

Awards are merit-based for Basotho nationals only and aligned with university placement requirements.mic placement and readiness.

 

Application Process

Machabeng encourages rolling admission throughout the year.

Initial Enquiry
Parents/guardians make an enquiry with the Admissions Office to obtain information about the school, available classes, curriculum, and admission requirements. Parents also can apply through admission portal on ED Admin

Submission of Application Form
A completed admission application form must be submitted along with the required supporting documents, which may include:

  • Previous school reports/transcripts ( important ) 
  • Birth certificate or passport copy ( important ) 
  • Student identification documents Passport or any other is important 
  • Recent passport-size photographs
  • Transfer or recommendation letter (if applicable)

Payment of Application Fee
The non-refundable application or assessment fee (if applicable) must be paid as per the school’s admission policy.

Entrance Assessment / Placement Test
The applicant may be required to sit for an entrance assessment or placement test to determine academic readiness and appropriate class placement.

Interview
An interview may be conducted with the student and/or parents/guardians to better understand the learner’s background, needs, and alignment with the school’s values and expectations.

Review and Decision
The Admissions Committee reviews the application, assessment results, and interview feedback before making an admission decision.

Offer of Admission
Successful applicants receive a formal offer of admission from the Head of school outlining the terms, conditions, and deadlines for acceptance.

Acceptance of Offer
Parents/guardians confirm acceptance by submitting the required acceptance documents and paying the enrollment or registration fee within the stipulated time.

Completion of Enrollment Formalities
Submission of any outstanding documents, medical forms, and completion of school agreements or policies.

Orientation and Commencement of Classes
The student attends orientation (if applicable) and officially joins the school at the beginning of the term or agreed start date.
