Mr & Miss Machabeng Project

Mr and Miss Machabeng: More Than a Crown

At Machabeng College, the titles of Mr and Miss Machabeng represent so much more than prestige. While our annual pageant showcases the confidence, talent and intellect of our learners, the true heart of this project lies beyond the stage  in service to our community.

Building Confidence, Fighting Peer Pressure

These experiences have revealed a pressing need among young people: the challenge of peer pressure. As we look to the future, Mr and Miss Machabeng aspire to expand our reach into communities where our learners can mentor teenagers, helping them build resilience, self-worth and the confidence to make empowered choices.

Leadership in Action

Mr and Miss Machabeng are ambassadors not only of our school, but of positive change. Once crowned, our titleholders embark on a journey of outreach, using their platforms to uplift those around them.

Past projects have included Rip the Runway, a fashion show founded by former Miss Machabeng Ntsoaki Machoba, which raised vital funds for local orphanages. In 2024, the Mr and Miss Machabeng project travelled to Thaba Tseka to train and judge contestants for Miss Teen Thaba Tseka. This was followed in 2025 by our role in training and adjudicating the Mr and Miss City Toys pageant at Maseru Mall.

Behind the Crown

The Mr and Miss Machabeng project, together with the Pageantry Club, operates under the umbrella of the Yearbook Club, a collaboration that documents our journey and celebrates the legacy of those who wear the crown with purpose. We believe that every young person has the potential to lead. Through service, mentorship and visibility, Mr and Miss Machabeng continue to prove that a crown is not just worn, it is earned every day in the service of others.
